The ancient practice of sound healing is a gentle, non-invasive, holistic practice/therapy that uses sounds, vibrations, and frequencies to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual healing, regulate the nervous system, reduce stress, improve sleep, and increase overall well-being.
Sound healing found me in 2023 during a time when I began seriously questioning everything about my personal status quo - from old patterns, work habits, and ways of thinking to systems, my spirituality...you name it. This sent me down the magical path of exploring more alternative/holistic wellness practices. The pull toward sound healing was strong and seemingly a natural fit with the audio production pieces of my 15+ years as a communications and multimedia professional, my bachelor's degree in Film/Video & Broadcasting, and my master's degree in Communications along with 10 years as a percussionist.

Once sound healing was on my radar, I initially dove in to utilize the modality for my own healing journey and my family's benefit (I'm the proud dada to three beautiful boys and husband to the brightest ray of sunshine in my life, my awesomely supportive partner of 14 years, Lisa). But, the universe quickly showed me I was meant to be a messenger about this ancient practice in modern times, which led me to Life Changing Energy's accredited sound healing courses. Having achieved an expert level status with specialities in crystal singing bowls and tuning forks (courses accredited by The Complementary Medical Association and the Global Sound Practitioner Alliance), my current specialized learning paths include: achieving master level; expanding my knowledge around Tibetan singing bowls; offering specialized sound healing services to neurodivergent children; and creating trauma-informed healing experiences.
I also truly love and cherish collaborating with local wellness-oriented small businesses, like Boochie - Kombucha & Wellness Bar, Brower's Flowers, Harmonic Egg & Wellness GR, Wanderlux Beauty + Wellness, Hydrangea Blu Barn, and others in the West Michigan area to curate and offer meaningful, unique, and restorative sound bath experiences (I invite you to browse my Events Gallery and contact me if you'd like to dream up some magic for your tribes).

The core of my practice is the foundational belief that everything in the universe is comprised of energy, including our bodies, emotions, and spirits, and vibrates at specific frequencies. When the body’s vibrations disconnect from its natural rhythm, physical and emotional imbalances and symptoms can manifest. Sound healing can help restore this balance by using vibrations and specific frequencies to activate the body’s natural healing mechanisms, including the parasympathetic nervous system, which helps the body relax and conserve energy. To produce these sound, vibrations, and frequencies, sound healing practitioners commonly use instruments with historical reputations for promoting healing, including crystal and Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, tuning forks, cymbals, drums, and even the human voice. (scroll down to meet the instruments of my practice)
As a Sound Healing and Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki Practitioner, my intention is to help harmonize and tune your body, because each of us is our own instrument and we have various frequencies constantly running through our bodies, emotions, and spirits. When we harmonize these aspects through sounds, vibrations, and frequencies, these pathways open to allow greater conscious alignment to move in and through us so we can all radiate our brightest lights. The more that our bodily "vehicle" is in harmony, the more we are capable of being in alignment with our hearts and authenticity.
My family and I have experienced first-hand the positive benefits of this ancient practice. It has offered meaningful experiences physically, emotionally, and spiritually to many of those who have attended my sound baths and booked private sessions (see Testimonials) as well as from the hundreds of testimonials I've read, watched, and listened to from people around the world.
So, my mission is really simple - expose as many people as possible to the magic and power of sounds, vibrations, and frequencies to help them radiate their brightest light.
Thanks for being here, and I'm grateful to be a part of your journey 🙏
Love & Hugs,
Matty ☀️

CRYSTAL SINGING BOWLS are percussion instruments made from high-purity quartz silica sand by heating and molding into a bowl shape that produces long, pure, resonant tones when struck or rubbed with a mallet. These bowls are known for their ethereal sound and ability to create harmonic overtones to promote relaxation, balance energies, and induce altered states of consciousness. My 7 black bowls

TUNING FORKS are non-invasive acoustic instruments that produce sounds, vibrations, and frequencies when activated and positioned on and around the body. When struck, a tuning fork’s tines start vibrating a couple hundred times per second, transmitting powerful waves of vibration in the air tuned to a specific frequency. As a result, tuning forks can be used as a form of “sonic acupuncture” to hel

GONGS are handcrafted instruments made from hammered metal like bronze, brass, or copper-based alloys. Gongs come in varying sizes/styles, each with their own unique, resonant, and multilayered sounds. Gongs like my Heng Gong (named "Sunny") have been used throughout history for meditation, ceremonies, spiritual growth, and funerals. The powerful vibrations of gongs penetrate deeply into the body

HANDPANS are instruments made of metal that produce unique, soothing sounds similar to a steel drum and played by striking the surface lightly with your fingers. Carefully hand-crafted from high hardness carbon steel by skilled artisans, my specific 12-note D Minor handpan - tuned to 432Hz - produces rich, warm, and resonant tones through the D minor scale, which is known for its versatility and e

TINGSHA CYMBALS - Tingsha are two small, metal cymbals made of copper metal alloys, such as bronze or brass, because these metals generate harmonic, high-pitched, lingering sounds when they strike each other. Historically, they have been used in the Tibetan religion in prayers, rituals, meditation, and healing. As a natural, non-invasive remedy, I incorporate Tingsha into all of my offerings and

TIBETAN SINGING BOWLS are a type of bell, usually made from a metal alloy, that produce deep sounds and vibrations resonating at a bowl's natural frequency when struck or circled around the rim with a mallet. Originating in the Himalayan region, these bowls are traditionally used in sound healing, meditation, yoga, and other healing practices to help clear energy blockages, promote healing, and sy

STEEL TONGUED DRUMS come in different shapes, sizes, and numbers of tongues, each producing its own unique sound. Playing steel tongue drums creates a calming environment that can help ease the mind and body.
