Reserve Tickets Here. Join us to unwind your mind at Boochie - Acai & Kombucha Café this fall for Sound Baths at Boochie - a series of restorative and immersive sound baths that invite you into a deeper state of consciousness, serve as an opportunity to unplug and relax, and promote self-inquiry/discovery.
Before this 60-minute sound bath taking place during the season of giving thanks, Jennifer Bullis-Makowski, Boochie Bar Owner, leads us in a gratitude practice to help pause the hustle and bustle of life to connect with our hearts through sound, vibrations, intentions, and, most importantly, gratitude. Then, Matty Makowski, a Rockford-based, certified Sound Healing Practitioner, Reiki Master, and owner of Matty Sunshine Sound Healing, plays 8 crystal singing bowls, a Heng gong named Sunny, Tingsha cymbals, and more instruments with historical reputations for promoting healing during this meditative experience.
WHAT IS A SOUND BATH? Sound healing is based on the principle that everything in the universe is comprised of energy, frequencies, and vibrations, and that specific sounds, vibrations, and frequencies can be used to balance and harmonize this energy inside each of us. A sound bath is a deeply immersive, non-invasive, full-body listening experience during which various instruments produce these sounds, frequencies, and vibrations that have the power to shift brainwaves into a deeply relaxed state. In this state, your nervous system can relax and release stuck/stagnant energy, emotions, and trauma, allowing your natural healing abilities to work more effectively. This can help bring you back into vibrational and energetic alignment across mind, body, and spirit.

WHAT TO BRING: We recommend bringing a yoga mat, pillow, blanket, cozy costume or other clothes, and water. Depending on the thickness of your yoga mat, you may also consider bringing something additional to lay on top of, like an extra blanket, sleeping bag, or even a pool float. Eye masks will also be available if needed to help enhance your relaxation. If you will need to sit upright, Boochie Bar offers a handful of cozy chairs available on a first come, first serve basis. Please let us know in advance if you will require a chair or other accommodations and bring a towel or blanket to place over the chair.
